Ben Davis

Ben Davis is a screenwriter and director based in Los Angeles. He recently sold a sci-fi short story to Columbia, and another short story, Never Die, to Lionsgate, both of which he is adapting. His pilot Watch the Skies topped the Black List website in 2016, and his features have advanced to the semifinals of the Nicholl Fellowship and the Austin Film Festival multiple times. As a director, he has helmed national broadcast commercials for many major brands, and his films have screened at prestigious festivals like the Austin Film Festival, Flickers Rhode Island, and the Ouray International Film Festival.

Ben grew up working-class in Dallas and made his way to Hollywood through stubbornness and a healthy disregard for the odds. Open about his own experience with mental health, he is drawn to stories about faith, family, and people who were never expected to end up where they are.

When he isn’t writing, he’s following baseball or shooting Portra 400 on his father’s Canon AE-1. He is represented by Verve and Time Train.

Anyone struggling with their mental health can dial 988 for support.
