The Jellyfish Man
In a quiet suburban neighborhood, a sleep-deprived new father’s attempts to find peace are thwarted by his holiday-obsessed neighbor and his pet jellyfish.
The Jellyfish Man is a 2023 comedy short. The cast and crew gathered in Dallas before the holidays, built the characters around the roles they wanted to play, and shot the film in two days. Post-production was self-financed through a $4,500 Kickstarter campaign.
The film is a love letter to suburban life and to holiday movies like Die Hard and Home Alone.
The Jellyfish Man won Best Sci-Fi Short at the Deep in the Heart Film Festival. It also screened at the Austin Film Festival, Flickers Rhode Island, the Ouray International Film Festival, the Centre Film Festival, the SIFF Sci-Fi & Fantasy Short Film Festival, FilmQuest, and Omeleto.
