DIRECTOR’S NOTE: The Jellyfish Man came together when Gregory Bordelon, Adam Hagenbuch, and I all found ourselves in Dallas right before the holidays. The characters were formed out of discussions about the types of roles they wanted to play, and, honestly, my selfish desire to see them on camera together. We shot the whole thing in just two days, creating this quirky suburban tale where a sleep-deprived dad goes to war with his oddball, holiday-obsessed neighbor. We self-financed the project and raised $4,500 on Kickstarter for post-production. It’s a love letter to our own suburban struggles and my obsession with holiday movies like Die Hard and Home Alone.
